Use of female models at motor show criticised

Gender Relation and Coordination Cell (GRCC) and Institute for Development Policy Analysis and Advocacy (IDPAA) of Proshika yesterday criticised the use of female models at the country's first International Motor Show 2003 in the city.

Fouzia Khandaker, deputy director of GRCC and Omar Tareq Chowdhury, deputy director of IDPAA, in a statement urged the Bangladesh Automobiles Distributors Association, organiser of the fair, to refrain from using women to attract the buyers.

They also urged all producers and advertising farms not to use female models in marketing their products in such a way that undermines the image of the women in the society.
