Malaysia to recruit Bangladeshi workers
Barnama, Malaysia
Malaysia has given the green signal to its human resources ministry to once again recruit Bangladeshi workers. The ministry will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh High Commission to this effect. The approval was given as the government needed more foreign workers, Human Resources Minister Dr Fong Chan Onn said on Wednesday. "They would be employed as general workers," Dr Fong said at his office after a meeting of the ministry. Some 50,000 Bangladeshi workers recruited on ad-hoc basis are currently in the country. The MoU would also specify that the workers must be fluent in Malay and English and the country of origin must attest to this efficiency.
