Grand Prix in Spain goes to 'Jibon-Jole-Bele'

Film maker Shaheen Dill-Riaz's documentary film 'Jibon Jole-Bele' (Sand and Water) received the Grand Prix "La força del riu" (River's Strength) award in Spanish "River Film Festival" (El festival del Riu) in Barcelona/Miridiana recently. The prize includes a cash money award of 1500 Euros and is given to the Best Documentary Film in the International competition. This film has already got three international awards in Germany. After attending the HOT DOCS Film festival in Toronto, International Doc and Short Film Festival in Cracaw/Poland, Environmental Film Festival (FICA) in Goiania/Brazil, the filmmaker and his film has now been invited to the International Documentary Film Festival in Japan. On the other hand, a newly launched TV channel MAORI TV in New Zealand is going telecast 'Jibon Jole Bele' by the end of this year. The film has already been translated in German, French, Polish, Portuguese, Catalonian and Japanese.
