Two killed in city


Unidentified assailants killed two persons in the city while a hotel employee who suffered assault injuries died at a hospital yesterday.

Three youths called Mehedi Hasan alias Saiful out of his Senpara Parbata residence in Mirpur in the morning. Taking him to Monipur, they shot and stabbed him at about 11:45am, this relative Shajahan said.

Hasan was taken to Suhrawardi hospital where the doctors declared him dead. Police sent his body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.

Reason behind the killing could not be known immediately. The victim's brother Mahbub Hasan filed a case with Mirpur Police Station but police failed to make any arrest.

Meanwhile, Tejgaon police recovered the body of an unknown young man near international trade fair ground at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar early morning.

Suspecting the man died in a road accident, police sent the body to the DMCH for autopsy. But doctors found wounds in the victim's head and asked police to make a fresh inquest report stating that the man died from bullet injury.

A case was field with Tejgaon Police Station.

In the other incident, Mukul Hossain, personal assistant to the owner of a Sayedabad hotel, died at Bangabanbdhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) where he was admitted with multiple injuries ten days ago.

He died at 7:00am and police sent Mukul's body to the DMCH for autopsy.

Mukul's son Rajib Hossain lodged a complaint with Demra Police Station.
