The approval was given at a meeting of the ECNEC at Sher-e- Banglanagar NEC conference room with Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the chair.

The projects approved in the meeting include project for building infrastructure of Science and Technology Institute at Mirpur Cantonment under the Defence Ministry, introduction of modern DVD technology at Department of Films and Publication under the Information Ministry, construction of protection wall on both sides of Chaktai canal and cementing the canal bed under the Local Government Division, construction of third Buriganga Bridge with fund from Kuwait under Communications Ministry, construction of second Shitalakkha and Teesta bridge, development of road from Banani to Matidali in Bogra, including station road and the third phase of Barind rural road development project under Agriculture Ministry.

Finance Minister M Saifur Rahman, LGRD and Co-operatives Minister Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan, Textile Minister Abdul Matin Chowdhury, Health and Family Welfare Minister Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain, Industries Minister Motiur Rahman Nizami, Communications Minister Nazmul Huda, Agriculture Minister MK Anwar, Information Minister Tariqul Islam, Post and Telecommunication Minister M Aminul Haq and State Minister for Finance and Planning Anwarul Kabir Talukdar attended the meeting.
