Cultural Correspondent
The Bengal Foundation media concern has come up with two 'lifestyle' monthlies--ICE Today in English and Charbela Chardik in the vernacular.Printed on art paper, both the magazines 'will earn appreciation for their glossy clear pictures accompanied by some interesting features covering the cultural heritage and natural beauty of the country, profiles, interviews, information technology, fashion, guides to both everyday and occasional shopping and other entertainment news', said Luva Nahid Choudhury, the editor of the monthlies, at a press preview on October 31. The 96-page four-colour magazines provide 'the latest and the best of the three key ingredients of modern life--information, communication and entertainment', said Ziaul Karim, the executive editor of the publications. A few items have been common in both the magazines. The editors however said that gradually this overlapping would be reduced. The editorial board of the magazines includes Fakrul Alam, Syed Manzoorul Islam and Kaiser Haq.
