BSF kills 2 farmers

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) reportedly gunned down two Bangladeshi farmers at Singhnagar border of Shibganj upazila yesterday.

The BSF personnel of Daulatpur camp in Malda took Mohammad Masud and Rafiq of Tarapur village across the border at gunpoint when they were cutting grass 100 yards inside Bangladesh territory. Later, they shot dead the two farmers, locals alleged.

Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) strongly condemned the killings and demanded return of the victims' bodies. But the BSF did not reply to the BDR call till 6:00 last evening, officials said.
