DCC to demolish old vulnerable buildings

Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) has taken steps to demolish old vulnerable buildings in Dhaka city, Housing and Public Works Minister Mirza Abbas told the Jatiya Sangsad yesterday.In a written reply to SA Sultan (Chandpur-4), Mirza Abbas said that DCC and Rajuk separately identified the risky dilapidated buildings. Answering to Golam Mohammad Kader (Rangpur-3), he told the House that the government has no plan to shift the Bangladesh Secretariat from its present location. He also informed him that the present government had sold 17 abandoned houses in city. Responding to a query of M Alamgir Haider Khan, Mirza Abbas said drives were on to demolish the unauthorised structures and bazars in the capital city.
