The cellphones were seized from a luggage flown in by a Gulf Air flight from Dubai which landed at ZIA 8:00am. The luggage tag had the name of Hassan Ali, ZIA sources said.

Following information received by Customs Preventive Superintendent Ashoke Barua, a team of customs officials led by Additional Commissioner Lutfar Rahman seized the luggage around 9:40am.

The luggage contained 330 cellphones of Nokia brand worth around Tk 25 lakh, customs sources said. The owner of the luggage however managed to flee from ZIA.

The goods are kept at ZIA warehouse and a departmental case was filed in this connection.
