Odonkor wants guarantees

David Odonkor has arrived back at Dortmund after his World Cup adventure with his sights firmly set on cementing a place in the Dortmund starting eleven. Odonkor was a firm fans' favourite throughout the World Cup and he made an impact coming from the bench for Jurgen Klinsmann's side, but is not prepared to do the sae at club level.

He told Bild: "If I am forced to sit on the bench, I will call my agent and consider a transfer.''

With the arrivals of Alexander Frei and Nelson Valdez, Dortmund have strengthened in attack and put Odonkor's place under threat.

And after returning from his holidays after the World Cup, Odonkor fears he may have lost ground on the new signings and, with just 10 days to prepare for the start of the new season, he may also have lost his place in Bert van Marwijk's starting XI.
