CPB calls for introducing science-based edn system

The Communist Party of Bangladesh has called for radical reforms of the education system through introduction of a science-based modern education system for all.A knowledge-based society should be built in order to materialise the dreams of the martyrs of the Language Movement of 1952, CPB leaders said at a discussion on Thursday. The CPB organised the discussion at its office in the city on the first day of its month-long programmes marking the Amar Ekushey and the International Mother Language Day. CPB President Monzurul Ahsan Khan presided over the discussion. The speakers called on all to come forward to lead the country towards a prosperous future and uphold secular values. They also called on the people to resist fanatics, militants, anti-people forces, corrupt elements and criminals who are still trying to eliminate the democratic and progressive forces. The CPB leaders also called for steps to eradicate illiteracy and promote mother languages of the indigenous community. CPB General Secretary Muzahidul Islam Selim, presidium member Sahidullah Chowdhury and Prof MM Akash spoke at the discussion.
