Aggrieved leaders, supporters to unite for polls, hopes BNP

BNP today expressed hope that supporters of party leaders who failed to secure the party nomination will work as a team in the upcoming general election.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told this to journalists at party’s Nayapaltan office in Dhaka. “Though supporters of nomination deprived leaders have been disheartened temporally, it will end soon,” Rizvi said.

Yesterday, several hundred supporters of some of the BNP leaders, who failed to secure the party nomination, vandalised the party Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office yesterday evening. The party men resumed their demonstration for the second consecutive day today in front of the office.

Mentioning that the rejection of all three appeals of party chief Khaleda by the Election Commission (EC), Rizvi alleged that her appeals have been rejected as per directive of the government.
