Ruling Awami League today complained to the Election Commission accusing that the opposition BNP and Jamaat supporters are attacking their activists.
After moving the complaint to the commission this afternoon, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Political Adviser HT Imam revealed the issue before the media.
“Awami League leaders and activists are being attacked by BNP-Jamaat men across the country,” he said at the press briefing.
“We urge the Election Commission to take actions against the attackers as the law enforcers are performing duty under the commission, he said.
He said they also requested the commission to reject the nomination of the candidacies of 25 Jamaat-e-Islami leaders as per law.
“We urged the commission to take action as BNP candidates are using the photo of BNP leader Tarique Rahman along with party Chairperson Khaleda Zia,” he said. “Only the pictures of party chiefs are allowed on posters.”
