Process underway to revoke licence of Biman pilot Sadia: CAAB official
Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh has started process to revoke commercial pilot licence (CPL) of Sadia Ahmed, now grounded first officer of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on the charge of submitting a forged educational certificate.
"We have ensured that she [Sadia Ahmed] cannot fly any flight. She has already been grounded. Now we have started the process to revoke her CPL," a top official of CAAB, the regulatory authority of the country's civil aviation, told The Daily Star.
Wishing anonymity, he also said CAAB cannot take the decision of revoking her licence hurriedly. "We have some legal procedure to follow."
CAAB came up with the move following a recent report by The Daily Star on submitting a forged educational certificate by Sadia Ahmed, claiming that she was a an HSC student from science group.
Information retrieved from the Dhaka Board of Education, however, shows that she was a student of humanities, passing in second division from Shaheed Anwar Girls' College with Bangla, English, civics, psychology, and home economics.
