ART FESTIVAL
The 3rd International Art Festival 2020 Nilphamari, Bangladesh's premier art event celebrating different artistic expressions, concluded recently on a high note. The four-day (February 26-29) grand event, held this year at Nilsagor, Nilphamari, featured around 400 artists representing five different generations of Bangladesh, India, USA, Nepal and Myanmar. Organised by the Art Festival 2020 Nilphamari Organising Committee, with active support from Vision 2021, Nilphamari and Art Bangla, Dhaka, the event, under the tagline, 'Nature is life, Art for Brighter Life' included an international art camp, two international exhibitions, a folk art and craft fair, seminar, cultural programmes, camp fire, sightseeing and more. Various cultural performances, including Baul Gaan, Bhandi Khela, Bieer Geet, Horikirtton and Lathi Khela were showcased at three different stages at the festival venue. The prime purpose of the festival was to decentralise and diffuse the heritage of Bangladeshi art and culture across the country. Nilsagor welcomed participants to work on their artistic projects in a beautiful and natural environment. Promising artists from all around Bangladesh paired with local school students to work on different forms of art. Several contemporary artists, along with five art organisations also participated in the event. With the organisers' ambitious undertaking, the festival turned out to be one of the most impressive celebrations of art in recent memory.
