Dengue outbreak: Local govt bodies officials’ leave cancelled
The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) has cancelled leave of officials and staff of all city corporations and municipalities across the country to prevent the dengue outbreak.
Besides, the leave of all the officials and staff of the Local Government Division has also been cancelled on the same ground, according to the ministry notice.
The order will effective until further notice is issued in this regard, the notice said.
About those officials and staff, who have already gone on leave, have been asked to join their respective workplace within the next 24 hours.
The LGRD ministry issued separate notices yesterday to make this effect immediately.
To control the recent outbreak of the dengue fever, local government, city corporations and different ministries have taken various programmes to destroy the larvae of Aedes mosquitoes, according to the notice of the ministry.
The leave has been cancelled with a view to supervise the programmes so that the menace of the mosquitoes can be effectively controlled across the country, the notice said.
