Polytechnic instt student killed in Tejgaon road crash

A student of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute was killed as a covered van rammed his motorcycle in Tejgaon area of Dhaka early today.

Deceased was Sazzad Hossain, a final-year student of Electronics Department of the institute, Abdur Rashid, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tejgaon Industrial Police Station, told The Daily Star.

The OC said the accident took place around 1:00am when the covered van hit the motorbike of Sazzad in BSTI intersection of Tejgaon while he was returning to his hostel in the area, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue.

The law enforcers arrested the driver and seized the covered van, added OC Abdur Rashid.
