Ibn Sina chairman, 3 others sued for wrong blood test report
A lawyer today sued four people, including the chairman of the Ibn Sina group, for allegedly providing wrong report on a blood test to determine platelet level for the diagnosis of dengue fever.
A Dhaka Bar Association lawyer Ramzan Ali Sardar alias Rana Sardar filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Didar Hossain.
After the hearing, the magistrate asked officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station to submit a report on the issue after investigation.
The accused are: Chairman of Ibn Sina Hospital, Chairman of Ibn Sina Group, Managing Director of Ibn Sina Diagnostic and Imaging Center in Dhanmondi and Dr Colonel (ret) Md Moniruzzaman of the hospital.
The complainant alleged that he went to Dhanmondi branch of Ibn Sina Diagnostic and Imaging Center on July 25 for a CBC blood test. After paying the fee, he gave a blood sample, the report of which was given to him on July 26.
In the report, he saw his platelet count was 7,84,000 CMM and got panicked. Later, he went to Bangladesh Medical College and Hospital for the same blood test. As per their report, his platelet count was 2,00,000 CMM.
The complainant alleged that if he took drugs based on the false report of Ibn Sina, it would have led to some fatal diseases, and possibly threaten his life.
He also pleaded for issuance of warrant to arrest the accused.
