3 die in Dinajpur road crash

Three passengers were killed and 30 injured as a bus hit a roadside banyan tree in Ghoraghat upazila of Dinajpur this morning.

Two of the deceased were identified as bus driver Md Sultan Alam, 45, of Hakimpur upazila, and Md Abdus Sattar, 22, of Biral upazila of Dinajpur.

Quoting witnesses, police said the bus hit a tree at Kushigari village on Dinajpur-Dhaka highway around 5:30am, when it was heading to Dinajpur from Dhaka.

Locals rescued the injured victims and rushed them to Ghoraghat Upazila Health Complex, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.

Aminul Islam, a sub-inspector of Ghoraghat Police Station, confirmed the incident from the spot.
