No top 20 list from next year: Nahid
The government will not prepare the list of the top 20 educational institutions under a board in any public examination from next year in a bid to curb malpractice by the institutes across the country.
“We have evidence that many teachers commit malpractice before beginning examinations to secure position in the top 20 institutes, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said this after making SSC and its equivalent exams public at his ministry office.
“We expect that all educational institutions would secure good results. Without making list of the top 20 schools, we will recognise the best school in an alternative manner,” the minister said.
Education Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan said the main aim of the education is inclusiveness and equity.
“The spirit of the education is obstructed if we make such lists,” he added.
As per the existing process, the ministry has been preparing list of top 20 schools and colleges to encourage good result in the SSC examination.
