Wasim’s death: Bus driver, helper remanded

The bus driver and his helper has been placed on remand over the death of Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) student Wasim Afnan.

Moulvibazar’s District Chief Judicial Magistrate Court placed the duo on five-day remand today after police sought them in custody for questioning.

Wasim, 21, a fourth-year student of biotech and genetic engineering, was run over allegedly after being shoved off the bus by the helper.

SAU Proctor Mrittunjoy Kundu and nine students filed the case against driver Jewel Ahmed, helper Masuk Ali and Supervisor Shebul Mia last Monday.

Shebul Mia went into hiding since the incident took place.
