Dhaka sky likely to clear by afternoon, says metereologist

Dhaka dwellers got momentary respite from the dust and heat as there was a burst of rain in the morning.

"We had anticipated that there would be rain with lightning even earlier. It started a little late. During this season, clouds accumulate, it rains, then the sky becomes clear. Hopefully, the sky of Dhaka will be clear after noon," Meteorologist Toriful Newaz Kabir told The Daily Star today.

The sky in the capital was cloudy since morning. The rain accompanied with lightning started around 10:30am.

According to Bangladesh Meteorological Department's forecast for the 24 hours from 9:00 am today, rain/thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally winds is likely to occur at one or two places over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, the forecast said.
