Two poachers arrested with 19 deer hides in Bagerhat

Detective Branch of police today arrested two poachers with 19 deer hides at Sharankhola upazila, said Pankaj Chandra Roy, superintendent of Bagerhat police, at a press briefing.

The arrestees are Mohammad Elius Hawlader (35) of Sharankhola upazila and Mohammad Monirul Islam Sheikh (48) of Bagerhat Sadar upazila, reports our Bagerhat correspondent.

Based on a tip-off, detectives conducted a drive at Monir's house adjacent to Rayenda bus stand around 1:45am today, the SP said.

A case is in process to be filed against them, after which they will be produced before the court, added SP Pankaj.
