Christian Benteke started playing the mind games as he took to social media and posted picture of his former Liverpool team mate Philippe Coutinho with captions intended to mock Brazil ahead of the Red Devils’ clash against Selecao in the Quarter Final of the World Cup 2018.
Belgium showed great character and resilience to come back from a 2-0 deficit against Japan and win the game 3-2. The victory means the Red Devils will now be facing the five times world champions in the Quarter Final of the tournament.
Despite being left out of the Belgium squad after a poor Premier League season with Crystal Palace, Benteke saw the chance to poke fun at Brazil by using snaps of former Liverpool team-mate Philippe Coutinho, as reported by Goal.com.
According to a report from Goal.com, Benteke resorted to social media as he posted one picture that sees Coutinho smiling, with the caption: “When you think you'll play Japan in the quarters.” And it sits next to another, with Coutinho grimacing, with the words “But Belgium turns it around with a last minute winner.”

It remains to be seen whether or not Benteke’s social media antics come back to bite him later as Belgium face Brazil on Friday in Kazan.
