Egypt confirm Salah fitness

Egypt have confirmed that Mohamed Salah will feature in their 2018 FIFA World Cup opening fixture against Uruguay and that 40 000 fans are expected to be in attendance for their final training session on Saturday.

Khaled Latif, a board member of the Egyptian FA has eased the nationwide concern of the Pharoes supporters by confirming the Liverpool superstar will training tomorrow before the national team heads off to Russia.

"I think that even if Salah will not be in the starting line-up, he will play a couple of minutes," Latif told reporters. "There is currently a coordination session in the EFA, to discuss the preparations for the training session and the team's flight to Russia.

Latif went on to confirm that a staggering amount of fans will flock to the countries training base in order to see the 23-man squad and wish them well.

"The amount of supporters in the training session will exceed 40 thousand, according to the security approvals, there are currently many coordinating with Tharwat Soilam, the EFA's executive director.

"There are some very good security arrangements taking place, before thinking about the number of supporters we have to think about how we'll assure their security. EFA president and the rest of the board member will be in the training."
