Neymar had hobbled out of Brazil training session on Tuesday, setting off alarm bells ringing in the Brazil camp. The forward had a difficult game against Switzerland and the news from the Brazil camp was that he had a ‘painful right ankle’ having received so many fouls in the opening match.
However, Brazil coach Tite, while talking from the Saint Petersburg Stadium, has informed that he will start the same lineup in Brazil’s match against Costa Rica tomorrow on June 22, meaning that Neymar is set to start the crucial match.
Thiago Silva will captain the side against Costa Rica as Tite will continue rotating the captaincy of the Brazil outfit. Real Madrid's Marcelo had led the Selecao out during their match against Switzerland.
Four days ago, Brazil legend Rivaldo said that if Brazil have any hopes of winning the World Cup this summer, they must use their emotion to fire them up and not cry.
In 2014, Brazil were humiliated on home soil 7-1 in the semifinals by eventual winners Germany and were criticised for showing too much emotion during the national anthem as the likes of Thiago Silva, Neymar and Julio Cesar were seen crying.
Asked on his choice of captain, Tite said: “What matters is who are playing well. I would be running out of people to choose as captain if I rejected everyone who cries during the national anthem."
