‘Nothing more beautiful than being Argentine’, says Messi

Argentina captain Lionel Messi resorted to social media to send a beautiful message to his fans after their thrilling 2-1 win against Nigeria to secure their place in the second round of World Cup 2018.

Messi scored a stunning opener in 14 th minute of the game—his first goal in this edition of the World Cup to give Albiceleste the lead in the game which was later cancelled out by a Victor Moses 51st minute spot kick. Argentina grabbed a dramatic 2-1 victory over the super eagles, courtesy of an 86th minute strike from Marcos Rojo.   

“I thank God for this joy and I thank you for that beautiful madness they have in each game !!!", Messi wrote. “Nothing more beautiful than being Argentine in good times and bad”, posted Messi thanking God for this amazing victory in his social networking site.

Argentina will now be facing France on June 30 at the Kazan Arena in the knockout stage of the tournament.
