Cristiano Ronaldo scored a stunning header in the 4th minute during Portugal's second group stage match against Morocco in the World Cup and broke Ferenc Puskas’s record of most international goals by a European footballer.
Ronaldo had gone level with Puskas's tally of 84 with a sublime hattrick in his last outing against Spain. His goal against Morocco takes his tally to 85 from 152 caps.
Only one player remains in front of Ronaldo in terms of goalscoring prowess on the international stage, Iran's Ali Daei. The Iranian had scored 109 times in 149 games during his 13-year international career.
Brazil legend Pele is in fifth place with 77 goals.
