India skipper Virat Kohli got an injury scare as the star batsman hurt his right thumb during a practice session in Southampton on Saturday.
However, it was not clear whether he suffered the while a fielding drill or in the nets while batting. The skipper was attended by India’s physiotherapist Patrick Farhart after he had his finger dipped in a glass filled with ice before walking off the field.
No official statement about Kohli’s injury has yet been made by the team management. This could be a huge blow to the Indian side that face South Africa on June 5 in their World Cup opener.
