The South African pacer was seen taking a dig at the Indian superstar Virat Kohli in an interview published by ‘The Cricket Monthly’ from ESPNcricinfo.
Virat has a record for behaving aggressively against his opponents on the pitch, which many think is a bit too much at times. Heated words were shared between the two players when Virat lashed at Rabada after he [Virat] hit the pacer for a boundary in an IPL match.
“I was just thinking about the game plan, really, but Virat, he hit me for a boundary and then he had a word. And when you get back to him, he gets angry.” said the 24-year-old speedster.
“I don’t get the guy. Maybe he does it because it gets him going, but that comes across as very immature for me. He is a phenomenal player but he can’t take the abuse.” added Rabada.
However, Virat clarified that for him the definition of aggression is that he gives his all for the team and the passion to win.
“Aggression for me is the passion to win and winning on every ball for the team. I think people have different meaning if aggression but for me it is to win the match at any cost and giving 120% for the team on each and every delivery. It could be on the field or if I’m sitting outside and applauding someone or batting or running, it could be anything. That, for me, is aggression,”Kohli said in a press conference when India faced Australia last year.
