Team mates and opponents were all in praises for England pacer Jofra Archer, after the World Cup opening match between South Africa and England where England won comprehensively by 104 runs.
The Barbadian born English cricketer scalped three important wickets for only 27 runs in just seven overs. The South African middle order batsmen had no answers to the pace of Archer, as he ripped through the batting line-up. The Proteas captain, Faf Du Plessis, who was caught in fine leg by a short ball of Archer termed the fast bowler as the X-factor in the English squad.
"Archer bowled really well with the new ball. He's a little bit nippy when he hits the crease. That's why he is that X-factor." said Faf in the post-match interview.
Not only did Archer impress his opponents, his team mate Ben Stokes, who was adjudged the man of the match for his all-round performance, also had some good words for the 24-year-old speedster.
"I played with him at Rajasthan (in the IPL) for the last two years and the way he went about things in the Pakistan series, it's so good to see the ball flying through and the pace he's got. The future is obviously bright for him." Stokes said.
