Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been in fantastic form throughout this World Cup. After his five-wicket haul against Afghanistan, the cricketer said that he had worked hard to specifically prepare himself for the World Cup.
Shakib had struggled with injuries, missing out on key matches. He missed out on the New Zealand series and did not manage to get matches in the IPL. The ace all-rounder did not sit around but worked hard on his game and it has seen him thrive from the beginning of the tour of Ireland.
"I did work really hard before the World Cup, I was well prepared. The best I could ever be prepared. It's paying off," Shakib said in post-match ceremony.
The ace all-rounder is having his very own World Cup here. He has missed out on a fifty in just one innings in this tournament and with his five-wicket haul, he now has bagged 10 wickets while being on top of the run-getters' list in the tournament. Bangladesh have important games coming up against India and Pakistan and Shakib wants to keep performing.
"Definitely want it to carry on. Our next two games against India and Pakistan are big games," he concluded.
