Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan suffered a side strain while batting yesterday during the match against Ireland. He had to go off the field and was retired hurt after an unbeaten fifty during Bangladesh's six-wicket win over Ireland. The team management will assess his injury situation before clearing him for the final.
"Shakib will be assessed by the physio at 12 pm Ireland time," chief selector Minhajul Abedin informed The Daily Star today. "It does not look like it is serious but after his assessment the decision will be taken on whether Shakib can play the final during the team meeting at 1 pm," Minhajul added.
