Minazul was arrested in a case filed by the victim in this connection, said Shaha Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station.
The incident happened yesterday night when the victim was staying alone at her under-construction home in the village. Her husband was guarding their cattle on their old homestead which got damaged on June 29 in erosion of Dharla River, the OC said.
Finding her alone in the house with doors and windows not installed yet, Minazul entered the house at dawn on Saturday (July 2) and tried to forcibly rape the woman.
