Patuakhali village home of Bayezid Talha, who was arrested in a case filed for removing nuts and bolts from the railing of Padma Bridge, was attacked and vandalised today (June 27, 2022)

The incident happened around 5:00pm this afternoon in Telikhali village under Laukathi union of the Sadar upazila, reports our Patuakhali correspondent quoting Solimur Rahman, sub-inspector of Sadar Police Station.

Hadisa Begum, the Bayezid's sister-in-law, said a group of 20-25 men along with sticks on eight-nine motorcycles suddenly rushed in and attacked the house.

They vandalised the house fence with local weapons and ransacked the furniture after getting inside h

Zaheda Akhter, a neighbour, said a motorcycle of the house was also vandalised during the attack.

Mizanur Rahman, a member of Laukathi union, said some members of local village police were sent to the spot after receiving information. The attackers were all unknown.

SI Salimur Rahman further said on information, he rushed to the spot and found evidence of vandalism. Necessary legal action is being taken in this regard.

Locals said Bayezid is the youngest of the three brothers. His parents live in Dhaka with their eldest son. Bayezid also lives in Dhaka for study purposes.
