A seven-member delegation of BNP has started a meeting with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the state guesthouse Jamuna, to press for a clear roadmap to the upcoming national election.

Six BNP leaders, led by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, reached at the guesthouse at 12:04pm today.

Other members of the delegation included BNP Standing Committee members Salahuddin Ahmed, Mirza Abbas, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Nazrul Islam Khan, and Jamir Uddin Sircar.

At 12:18pm, another stading committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury joined the meeting.

Sayrul Kabir Khan of the BNP Media Cell confirmed the meeting to The Daily Star.

The party leaders said that BNP is expected to submit a written statement to the chief adviser, urging the announcement of an election roadmap.

They said that if the government fails to provide a timeline, the BNP would launch street protests across the country.

The decision came following a BNP Standing Committee meeting held last night, sources said.
