A Sunday Times report has detailed the discovery of various items in the ransacked Gono Bhaban, the former official residence of deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

On Saturday, this newspaper was granted exclusive access to the Gono Bhaban.

Among the finds were Labour Party flyers linked to Tulip Siddiq, a UK Labour MP and niece of Sheikh Hasina. Tulip Siddiq, who has consistently distanced herself from her aunt's regime, now faces renewed scrutiny for her alleged connections to properties and individuals associated with the Awami League.

The items found in the residence, where protesters stormed on August 5, the day Sheikh Hasina fled to India following last s uprising, include luxury goods such as Chanel shopping bags, a $1,500 gold-trimmed Montblanc pen, and a diamond certificate. Political artifacts such as diplomatic cables and legal advice regarding media investigations into the regime were also uncovered.

Meanwhile, global leaders' gifts, such as a scarf from French President Emmanuel Macron and a tea set from China's Wang Yi, remain cataloged at the site.

The Gono Bhaban, currently overseen by the cultural ministry, is set to be transformed into a museum to highlight the dangers of authoritarian rule. The Sunday Times reports graffiti on the property walls, including slogans like "Killer Hasina" reflecting public sentiment against Hasina's rule.

Tulip has denied any wrongdoing, though critics have questioned her use of London properties linked to her aunt's administration.
