"Appreciated meeting again to discuss the importance of free and fair elections, freedom of expression, and continued humanitarian support for Rohingya and communities that host them," US Under Secretary Uzra Zeya tweeted.
In May this year, the US announced a visa policy, saying that it would deny visas to those who are involved in vote rigging and intimidation.
Zeya visited Bangladesh in July this year and called for free, fair and peaceful elections.
Later yesterday, US State Department Counsellor Derek Chollet also called on Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and discussed the bilateral cooperation.
