Meeting held between Yunus and political party leaders

Delegations of several political parties, including Bangladesh Nationalist Party and Jamaat-e-Islami,  met Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus at the Foreign Service Academy this afternoon.

The BNP delegation arrived at 3:30pm, with five standing committee members led by Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain. Other members of the delegation include Moyeen Khan, Syed Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, and AZM Zahid Hossain.

Jamaat Ameer Shafiqur Rahman, Gono Samhangti's Jonayed Saki, Nagorik Oikya's Mahmudur Rahman Manna, and Gono Odhikar Parishad's Nurul Haque Nur and Rashed Khan also entered the Foreign Service Academy at around 3:40pm.

Prof Yunus entered the Foreign Service Academy around 4:10pm.

The meeting between the chief adviser and the political parties was scheduled to start at 4:00pm.

Amid demonstrations in the capital and different districts over the attack on Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala, Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus last night began a series of dialogues to achieve national unity.

He met the leaders of students against discrimination and other student organisations yesterday evening, held a dialogues with the major political parties today, and religious groups tomorrow.
