Bus service from Rajshahi resumes
The bus services in Rajshahai resumed this afternoon, half an hour before BNP's Rajshahi divisional rally ended.
The bus services resumed at 4:00 pm as the owners withdrew their indefinite strike, said Motiul Haque Titu, joint secretary of Rajshahi Divisional Bus owners.
The BNP's rally held on the Madrasa Maidan in Rajshahi city ended around 4:30 pm, reports our Rajshahi staff correspondent.
Motiul said they withdrew the strike following a successful discussion with the Rajshahi divisional commissioner an hour before the withdrawal.
The meeting was held at the commissioner's conference room and bus owners' leaders from other districts of the division were present there.
Sadrul Islam, general secretary of the Rajshahi Truck owners' association said, they also withdrew the strike after the same meeting.
Buses were seen leaving Rajshahi at Rajshahi Railgate, Seroil and Bhadra bus stop areas to various destinations.
All other modes of transport also resumed their services.
The transport owners enforced an indefinite transport strike in Rajshahi from December 1 ahead of BNP's rally today.
BNP leaders alleged that the transport owners and workers called the strike in support of the Awami League government so that BNP leaders and activists cannot join the rally.
