Metro rail service has been disrupted as the authorities have closed down its operation from Pallabi to Shewrapara due to a fire incident near Mirpur-10 station, officials said.

"We are now operating metro from Uttara to Pallabi and Agargaon to Motijheel," MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd told The Daily Star at 2:30pm.

He said they stopped operation at four stations following a fire incident near Mirpur-10 station as cautionary steps.

One of our correspondents reported from Pallabi that a train arrived at the station around 2:10pm and from the loudspeakers it was announced that the train would not go onward.
