Review meeting on mass transport tomorrow: Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said a review meeting on mitigating recent crisis in the mass transport sector would be held tomorrow at BRTA office in Dhaka.

"The review meeting on mass transport would be held at Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) office at 4:00 pm tomorrow," he told this at a function at Secretariat here.

The function was organised for giving a compensation cheque to a victim of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC), who died in a bus accident in front of Mouchak market on March 29, 1991.

The minister handed over the check for Taka 2.5 lakh as compensation to father of Nafia Gazi, a student of economics department of Dhaka University.

The BRTC would give a total of Taka 10 lakh as compensation as per a court order.

The minister made a directive to the BRTA chairman for holding the review meeting with leaders of transport owners' association.

Secretary and officials concerned were present in the programme.
