Action if teachers use mobile in classroom: Nahid
Action will be taken against the teachers, who will use mobile phone in classrooms, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid warned today.
“If we find information that any teacher uses mobile phone in the classroom, we’ll take action,” the minister told the parliament in reply to a supplementary question from Awami League MP Shamsul Haque Chowdhury.
Nahid also mentioned that the education ministry issued a directive three years ago in this regard, and they have already taken actions against some teachers for violating the directives.
He called upon people to lodge complains against the malpractice being committed by the teachers to the authorities concerned.
In reply to another supplementary question from ruling party MP Fazilatun Nesa Bappy, the minister said the government has brought the coaching business under control through different measures to prevent the prevailing trend of leakage of the question papers in public examinations.
About the coaching business, he also said the government could not stop it fully as school and college teachers are also involved in the business.
