UK Sonali Otit beat Manikganj

UK Sonali Otit Club beat Maniikganj Sonali Otit Club by a single goal in a 60-minute friendly veterans' match at the Shahid Miraz Tapan Stadium in the district yesterday afternoon.

Abdul Gaffar scored the only goal of the game two minutes into the second half.

The UK Sonali Otit Club was formed in 2001 by expatriate former footballers. They played in different parts of the country earlier including taking part in a Veteran' Cup tournament in Dhaka.

Former national team captain Khorshed Babul and former national footballer Mosharaf Hossain Badal formally handed over trophies to the participating teams while Golam Mohiuddin, chairman of Manikganj district council, inaugurated the match.
