Brazil legend Ronaldo said that all the memes going around on social media making fun of Brazil superstar Neymar’s exaggerated reactions to fouls during World Cup matches are fun but not important and also admitted that he is a huge fan of the 26-year old attacker.
Neymar’s performances in World Cup 2018 have been overshadowed by criticisms regarding his theatrics during the game. Neymar who has been heavily criticized for a string of exaggerated reactions when clashing with an opponent, scored two goals and also provided one assist in the tournament so far.
In an interview given to ESPN, Ronaldo said that all the social media posts mocking Neymar are fun to watch but not important as the 26-year old forward is still the best player of the Selecao.
“I am huge fan of him. I think he is our most big talent for Brazil and he is still improving on the competition. I hope he can do better.
“Internet is so fast and all the memes going around is fun but not important. I think Neymar can continue his journey doing better for Brazil.” Ronaldo said.
Ronaldo also talked about Gabriel Jesus’s World Cup performance and Brazil coach Tite’s difficult task of choosing whether to start Jesus or Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino.
“I think Tite is very happy with Jesus’s performance. He is doing very well, ofcourse he did not score yet but he ran a lot and helps the team a lot. I think Brazil are playing good because they help each other as a team.
“We have Firmino available and he is a great player. He scored already. So we have two great players for one position and I am sure Tite is going to choose the best one.” Ronaldo concluded.
