BNP says it wants to talk election with AL
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said that his party is prepared to sit with the ruling Awami League in the target of holding a free, fair and inclusive general election.
“We are ready to sit with Awami League anytime, anywhere. We have been inviting the ruling quarter for talks since long,” he said during a press conference in response to a query.
“And now, at last, we got a positive message,” Fakhrul said while speaking at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office this afternoon.
Fakhrul was reflecting on Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader’s comments that he would talk to BNP through a phone call if necessary.
“Whatever he (Quader) said regarding the talks is a positive sign. Quader can call us at his convenient time. We got a message. Let’s see, we will call back again,” Fakhrul said.
