Around 150 BNP candidates came under attacks by the ruling party activists and law enforcement agency members across the country so far, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Rizvi Ahmed claimed today.
Of them, two BNP contenders have been kept in jail deliberately, Rizvi claimed at a press conference held at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka this noon.
The attacks are going in the areas under 300 parliamentary constituencies under the very nose of police, he said.
Apart from this, the ruling party activists are also removing the posters and banners of the BNP candidates and vandalized their loudspeakers, said Rizvi, also spokesperson person of BNP.
Holding the Election Commission (EC) responsible for the attacks and obstruction, Rizvi said the commission and the government are the two sides of the same coin.
The members of law enforcement agencies snatched BNP candidates’ rights of electioneering by launching combing operation across the country, he said.
