Fizz breaks into top-five in career-best ODI rankings
Bangladesh left-arm paceman Mustafizur Rahman has attained career-best rankings in the ICC rankings for bowlers in ODIs as he broke into the top five following the home ODI series against West Indies.
Fizz climbed seven places from 12th to 5th as his points tally stood at 695 points, seven points behind South Africa's Kagiso Rabada at fourth. Mustafizur bagged five wickets in the recent ODI series against the West Indies which Bangladesh clinched 2-1.
Meanwhile captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza proved his focus during the ODIs as he became Bangladesh's best bowler in the series along with Mehedi Hasan Miraz --both bagged six wickets in the series, and Mashrafe and Miraz were rewarded with with player-of-the-match awards in the first and third ODI matches respectively.
Mashrafe, who also played his 200th ODI for Bangladesh in the third ODI afgainst the Windies, climbed 10 spots to 23rd while Miraz shot up 19 places to 28th.
Shakib Al Hasan meanwhile is now just a point off top-ranked Rashid Khan in the all-rounder rankings. Miraz and Mustafizur also climbed up the all-rounder rankings with the former up 19 places to 38th while the latter is in 32nd.
For the home batsmen, Mushfiqur Rahim has a career-best 712 ranking points to be No.15. All of Soumya Sarkar (up 10 to No.42) and Liton Das (up four to No.98 with career-high points) found something to celebrate.
