Bangladesh Bank has instructed banks to keep adequate cash in ATM machines during the national elections to be held on December 30.
The central bank issued a circular in this regard today, undersigned by Bangladesh Bank’s General Manager Leela Rashid.
The circular has also instructed banks to execute 24-hour availability of ATM for consumers and general public during the election period.
It has also instructed banks to ensure round the clock Point of Sale (POS) services and two-factor authentication on online payment gateway.
The election day will be a national holiday in Bangladesh and all types of banking, legal, transportation and other services will remain closed.
