Army ready to extend overall assistance: ISPR

The members of Bangladesh Army are maintaining communication with law enforcement agencies and remain ready to extend overall assistance, if necessary, said a press release of Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR).

As part of their election duties, the army personnel conducted 1523 patrols in 389 upazilas across the country today, the release said.

With this, the force has carried out 3998 patrols since its deployment on December 24, it said.

The Armed Forces members were deployed in 389 upazilas of 62 districts ahead of the 11th parliamentary election, it said.

Since their deployment, the army personnel are engaged in carrying out patrols in their designated areas on regular basis ahead of the upcoming general election billed for December 30.
